Seychelles is known for its astonishing beaches, fantastic hiking trails and fortunes of local uniqueness, making it a popular honeymoon and vacation destination.

Seychelles houses a total of 115 islands, with Mahe as the biggest Island, then comes Praslin, followed by Silhouette Island, which is the third-largest island with reference to its area in the Seychelles.

In the post I am writing review or say 5 reasons to vacation at the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa.

The view of Silhouette Island from the ferry

Silhouette island

Silhouette island is located 20 km northwest of the main Island Mahe. Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa is the only hotel situated on this island.

Apart from the Resort, the island is also home to century-plus old tortoises and many rare plants and animals.

How to reach the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa

To reach Silhouette Island, a scheduled resort’s ferry takes guests from Bel Ombre Jetty at Beau Vallon.

You will receive a warm greeting at the resort lounge and be offered soothing welcome drinks, fruits and water.

The lounge is also where you will complete the check-in process.

The lounge area is set with comfortable sofa seating, a bar serving snacks and hot beverages, washrooms and a changing room.

So, if you are coming directly from the airport after a very long and tiring flight, then you can straightaway freshen up, sit and relax while enjoying the view before boarding the ferry.

The ferry ride is for 40-45 minutes, and there are 3 ferry rides a day.

Sea Conditions

Be aware that the ocean could be rough when you are arriving, so you might experience a bumpy boat ride.

On our check-in day, the sea was very choppy. I usually use a sickness band whenever travelling on the boat. It’s crucial for me because I am easily prone to seasickness.

While boarding the ferry, I was fear-stricken and was praying to survive the choppy sea.

Aaruni was scared for baby Aanick as it was his first ferry ride and I was helpless with seasickness.

Poor thing was taking care of both of us. Thanks to him, he got me a seat in the captain’s cabin. The ferry staff seemed very helpful, one of the crew members sat next to me for some time, just to make sure if I was okay.

The moment the ferry’s engine started rolling, till it reached the hotel dock, the ride was so bumpy that I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

No idea how the sailors and Navy do it. While docking, we could see the hotel representatives smiling and waving at the guests with a banner saying welcome in several languages.

I was thinking then – wow look at their happy faces, and here’s my face full of tension of holding up my vomiting sensations!.

Well, the foremost thing was I survived the ride, without throwing up and making myself more vulnerable and weaker.

Anyway then, we disembarked the boat and got a lovely welcome. The hotel personnel took us around the island, making us acquainted with the place.

Right from check-in to check-out, our experience was outstanding.

Based on my experience,

Here are 5 Reasons to choose to vacation at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa

The Location

I believe the best locations make the best vacations. Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa is one of the best tropical destinations for holidays or honeymoons.

It offers astonishing white-sand beaches, and the lush green hills on the island make the hiking experience even more exciting.

As the only resort on the island, Hilton has the advantage to make it a memorable experience for its guests, which it does perfectly.

If you have plans to visit the other islands in the country, then also it’s quite easy to move out of the island and go for tour or group excursions.

Among other Hilton Seychelles Mahe hotels, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa is a family-friendly hotel that offers exciting amenities, activities and experiences for kids and adults alike.

The resort offers many excellent services such as remarkable room service, varieties of cuisines in 7 speciality restaurants, spa facilities and more – all of which completely give you your money’s worth.

Villas and accommodations:

The resort villas are quite spacious, it can more than comfortably accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

The villas are facilitated with all the necessary amenities like tea or coffee set up, big wardrobes with iron and iron board and a safe.

The bathroom has a separate cubicle for a shower with one hand and two head showers. And it also has a water closet with bidet.

A huge round bathtub in the middle of the washroom makes it look amazingly luxurious. If you are a couple and are on your honeymoon, then you will love the design of the villa.

And if you are a family, then it’s a great choice too, because the spacious room has enough area to move around and place for your things.

Sanctuary pool villa at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa

Our Sanctuary pool villa

The resort has categories of villas like Garden Villa, Beachfront Villa, Sanctuary Pool Villa and Deluxe Beachfront Pool Villa.

We booked for Sanctuary pool villa, which was quite spacious. Massive bathroom with separate enormous bathtub. Two outdoor openings to access outdoor rain shower, private pool, patio with mountain view, sun lounger bed and also a hammock.

Room welcomed us with exceptional arrival amenities and personalised water bottles for us and baby Aanick. Most of the 5-star properties give unlimited complimentary water – still, I loved the idea of providing personalised, sustainable water bottles to keep you hydrated. It’s such a unique approach of being eco-friendly.

Baby Aanick’s experience as a young guest

They set a tent for baby Aanick in the room. He loved it and kept playing inside it. A small bag was kept for kids to collect their own souvenirs from the island like corals. It reminded me of my childhood when my sister and I used to collect things like smooth stones, structured sticks or anything intriguing.

Aanick was so happy and excited in his new temporary house that he was running around exploring the room.

The moment I withdrew the curtains, he ran to jump into the pool. But the little smarty pants didn’t know different types of doors exist in the world. He went ahead and bumped right into the glass door! Ouch!

Thankfully, it wasn’t a severe bump. I should have been sympathetic to him, but his naughtiness made me laugh. Seeing Aanick’s enthusiasm, Aaruni took him for a swim. The rain made the pool water freezing and the cold breeze made swimming difficult. Aaruni and I were shivering, but there was no stopping for the little champion. He was simply enjoying the pool splashing his feet and hands around the water.

Hospitality

While running on our way to the restaurant for lunch, Aanick fell and was bleeding from his lips. A staff member saw us worried, and he acted swiftly. He stopped another employee passing in a buggy and took us to the doctor. I appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the staff who gave up her buggy.

Requesting anything was never a problem during our stay. The requested item was delivered to the room in no time.

These are a few examples of the prompt hospitality we had there. We always received warm behaviour from the team in any restaurant we dined in.

A resort or a hotel thrive successfully when the hotel employees are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a hassle-free stay for the hotel guest.

Welcoming gestures like smiling, listening to the guests’ problems, anticipating guests’ needs are a few skills they are trained for.

The hospitality of the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa staff are perfect.

Every staff member we met were so passionate about their job. The resort employees are pretty fast and helpful in their actions. Either you are wondering where to go for the day or waiting for a buggy to come and pick you up – whatever the case may be, they manage all of it efficiently.

Food and Cuisines

Imagine the dream of yours when you want to eat different speciality dishes every meal. I am not that big a foodie, but I would love to eat differently every day and enjoy different types of food.

All the meals I had at Hilton Seychelles Labriz were a treat to my palate. The resort serves mouth-watering culinary experiences across its 7 restaurants.

Cafe Dauban – The resort’s main restaurant. Serves buffet breakfast and dinner. The theme of the buffet dinner keeps changing. It has a vast buffet spread with international varieties. In our short 2 nights and 3 days vacations, we enjoyed 3 breakfasts and 2 tempting and delightful theme buffets – Arabic cuisine night and Street food night with live creole dance and music.

4th degree – We spent evenings lying down, relaxing, sipping that prosecco wine. The pleasant view of impressive sunsets and breezy evenings made our experience extraordinary.

This is a beach bar commanding a magnificent view of the Indian ocean. Also, a seafood and beach BBQ restaurant. The restaurant-bar is decorated with a regular table and chair setup and even with a sun lounger sofa bed. In the evenings it shines with the decorative lights.

La Brizan and Pizzeria – Next to the main swimming pool, this is the resort’s main bar. Get yourself a refreshing drink or just relax and lay back with that chilled beer or have a pool tournament with family and friends. This place is as lively as it can get, mostly at midday. Serves light dishes and also some speciality dishes with a live music band.

Pizzeria’s Peri-peri chicken with capsicum, avocado and orange zest pizza was worth ordering when we wanted to eat something light for lunch.

Portobello – Immerse yourself with Mediterranean and Italian cuisine in this fine dining restaurant. It also serves breakfast for the guests who are Hilton members.

Sakura – Satisfy yourself in this Asian fusion cuisine restaurant. Your love for sushi and Japanese delicacies will be filled in this beautifully designed and decorated Asian-themed restaurant.

Teppanyaki– Live Japanese cuisine. Uncover a set menu with starter, main course and dessert. Watch and enjoy the chef cooking the food live on a vast flat-surfaced grill with juggling knife and sometimes food. The aroma is heavenly and feels great to get hot and steamy food coming on your platter.

Grann Kaz – The restaurant is Dauban family’s original house and creole restaurant. You are in Seychelles, and for me, local cuisine is an excellent idea to understand the place. Indulge yourself in local food and enjoy the delicious curries and seafood dishes. Being an Indian, curries, dal and rice is our everyday staple. But I still love the variance in curries and other dishes, which creole cuisine offers.

Eforea Spa at Hilton Labriz Experience –

The Spa is located on the hillside. With treatment rooms that can be reached with a bit of hike on different levels. Guests also have access to the Spa’s plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms.

I had the experience of getting a facial and a massage done. The facial was good. The Elemis product was excellent. The Spa therapist is very efficient, and she explained the product to me very clearly. Also, this product is safe and effective. It does feel a bit tingling to the skin, but it’s all for the best. I also used the steam room before my facial treatment, which was a pleasant experience. Next day I took a body massage, which helped me relax to another level.

Beach

Gentle, stunning 2 km-long beach stretch with gorgeous clear waters will steal your heart away. If you want to take a walk or get soaked in that crystal-clear water, either of these is incredible activities. The beach is quite wide enough to get you some playing space or a walk along the shore.

The beach allows you to take some fantastic beachy pictures with bent or fallen trees, sunbathing on hammocks or sitting on huge swings. One of the frantic moments we had inside the water was when we were just sitting close to the shore and Ivory black lined fishes were prowling around us. The Beach villas have easy access to the beach. But Hillside villa guests can easily access the beach too. The path to the beach is not at all confusing. Also, unlike Mahe, you don’t have to look around on the island for the best beach to enjoy.

Activities

The resort has a wide range of activities to offer. The diving company PADI looks after all the ocean activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving and kayaking.

If you feel you don’t want to spend much on these activities, don’t worry, your stay is still going to be a fabulous one. The villa, the piquant culinary, the bars, the beaches, the swimming pools, Kids Club, Tennis court and mini-golf play area all make for a truly memorable vacation for families, couples and even individuals.

For us, this was a perfect getaway for a short vacation.

Hope the blog is helpful!

Hi DEAR ! thanks a lot for your detailed review on both hotels, Hilton Labriz and Carana Beach in Seychelles.
My future husband and myself are looking for an hotel of stay while in Seychelles we will celebrate our Wedding ceremony on the beach. We are much hesitating between those two hotels and would like to have your expert advice which one would you chose if it were for your wedding.

We are from Switzerland (french part) and like the tranquility Carana hotel seems to provide, yet we also discover through your blog that the various restaurants of Hilton Labriz look tasty !

Should you have any other hotel suggestion, feel free to tell me. Very much looking forward to reading you.

All the best and sending you my best regards,
Debora
