During the French colonial era, they built a plantation house dedicated to the in-charge of the Plantation and production at the farm. The plantation house is an example of old french architecture in La Digue. The Plantation house is recognised as a National monument in Seychelles. The Plantation is turned into an art gallery these days to showcase some brilliant local artists.

Other than coconut plantation, Vanilla plantation was one of the primary income sources for the people of LaDigue. They used to produce and export Vanilla extract and spices. While cycling towards the Anse source d’argent beach, you can see the plantation. The pollen insects did the Vanilla plantation, but it is done manually by the farmers on the farm due to fewer insects nowadays.
