Eden Island is an artificial island in Mahe. The Island is famous for the Yacht marina, Eden bleu hotel, multi restaurants, Luxury villas or apartments and Airbnb. Since we keep visiting Eden Island as an ex-pat, I will be shedding some light on things to do and things to know before you come to Seychelles. And also add this to your itinerary of Seychelles.

Where is Eden Island Seychelles
Eden Island is situated on Seychelles’ east coast and is connected via a bridge to Mahe Island. The largest island in Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 Islands.
Eden island is approximately 4 km from Victoria and almost 10 mins away from the Seychelles International airport. And it is approx—8 km away from Beau Vallon, a vibrant beach on Mahe island.
Eden Island has one entry point that is a connecting bridge from Mahe island to Eden island.
Eden Island has conveniently located shops for clothing, souvenirs, beauty products, grocery shopping, fashion and styling products, products related to fishing and boats and more.
If you are not Yachting, you can spend some relaxed quality time in this place on a clear day. Do some real shopping or window shopping. Like I always liked to see a shop of paintings and artworks from outside, sadly I saw it is closed now. I never went inside because I knew the price must be too high for me. But I adored those arts, so I always stood and looked at them.
You can rent a yacht from Eden plaza, where there are several service providers for the same.
Most of the time, I visit Eden when I have my spas appointments at the Holistic Eden Spa, which has 5-star standard services at a bit lower price than a star property. The Spa has a caring staff for customers and good beauty skills.
Shopping at Eden Island
Well, there’s plenty of options.
There are a few perfect jewellery shops like Kreoler and Jouel, and I always buy some of the other things from Jouel, so I can say the quality of the jewellery is outstanding.
And clothing brands you can check out. As regulars, we come and enjoy this place for lunch or coffee as Eden plaza offers many different restaurants with all exceptional serving cuisine.
Also, the place has souvenir shops, books shops, and toys shops that we frequently visit when looking for something for our son.
The grocery shopping you can do if you are staying close to Eden island or at the Island’s Airbnb’s or home rentals. You have SPAR, a supermarket where you can find almost everything but it’s a bit pricey. No doubt they have good stuff, though. We also get some takeaway lunch from here if we are late for lunch or don’t want to spend a lot in the restaurants at Eden Plaza.
There are also a few more general shops like Mama Mia, where you can find primarily Italian items for your Italian cooking taste. Or also ready-made things.
At the entrance or, say, end of the bridge, you have one more grocery store that offers many cheap items.
Restaurants/ Lunch and Dinner options at Eden Island
There’s an Indian restaurant, Maharaja, that offers India’s best dishes.
A Japanese restaurant, Sey Sushi, part of Bravo restaurant, serves a delicious Sushi platter.
Bravo restaurant serves one of the best pizzas on the whole Island.
Boardwalk Bar & grill has some extensive grills and Chinese on the menu. Tamassaa lounge and bar serves some excellent seafood dishes.
And all of these restaurants are fabulously located to the best views on the Eden plaza. One more thing, these restaurants are moderately priced.
Talking about some cafes, Eden Plaza has a few lovely coffee shops like
Sey si Bon – Offers some exciting smoothies, juices and crepes.
ChatterBox is another excellent cafe in the plaza that offers delicious pizza along with tasty coffees.
Parking at Eden Island
The place has a dedicated parking lot. It is free for one half an hour, and later it is charged, but it’s not much, and yes, it’s safe but don’t leave your car windows down or leave your car open, just saying to be alert.
Medical at Eden Island
The place has some good clinics like Euro medical and dentists and a pharmacy, so living closer to the area has so many things that ensure your convenience is pretty great.
Money exchange and phone recharge at Eden Island –
Eden plaza also has one exchange where they also do phone recharges. Also, the building has an airtel office so you can also get a sim or recharge from there.
ATMs and Banks at Eden Island
Novu bank is one of the leading banks in Seychelles. Eden plaza has a small novu bank branch inside the premises. So ex-pats who don’t want to drive to victoria can come to this one where they may get their work quickly with less crowd around.
Tourists can also get the money exchanged in the bank or use MCB bank ATM located close to SPAR supermarket.
Activities around the Island
- At Eden Island, you can rent a Boat, a Yacht or Kayak and go fishing, Island hopping, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking etc.
- Close to the Island, you have a few hiking trails that pay off with an incredible view.
- The Island has some lovely beaches around where you can d snorkel or do beach surfing.
Where to stay around Eden Island Seychelles
If you want to live at Eden Island, you can book Eden Bleu Hotel, which is a 4-star hotel and is located inside the Island.
There are many other hotels you will find on the east coast that are close to the Island. Also, as I mentioned before, the Island has Airbnb and apartments to rent.
Conclusion
If you plan to come to Seychelles on Christmas, make sure you visit this place because it looks fantastic with those lovely decorations at festivals.
All together, Eden is a place you can shop, eat, relax and admire nature on your vacations or off days. Also, it is a great spot to spend time if it’s a rainy day. At least you will not waste your time in the room.
So, Happy vacation!
