This is blog is about, a diaper changing table or changing pad is useful or not.

Today I am sharing my husband and mine experience with a diaper changing table, that may change the way you think about why we need a changing table for our newborn baby.

Story begins with me planning an invisible nursery for our expecting child. I read many mommy articles on how to set a baby room before arrival. (Thanks to Pinterest)

We set up a crib, a changing table in our one-room apartment—a house of a room, a washroom and a kitchen. I always felt that how we were going to live in such a small place with a baby. But it turned out to be an excellent decision to not move out and find a big house later. As he started growing and walking around. I could easily keep an eye on him while cooking or washing dishes.

Coming back to the changing table, this was the best thing we did for him.

Baby’s are brilliant little beings. They know what we are doing and why we are doing if we tell them. Yes!! Tell them. I always tell him what we are going to do and why this is happening. What I am doing to him. And saw that he actually responded in a positive way to everything. I mean he gave some sort of sign.

When the baby is newly born, that’s the time when you introduce things to the baby, and then they always know what is expected out of it.

When we introduced him, I meant whenever he pooped, or whenever it was time to change the diaper, we took him to the changing table. And once he was on the table, he knew what was going to happen.

He was always quiet whenever we changed his diaper. He liked to get cleaned up and even now he likes to be on the table whenever we are changing him.

Nowadays, he also pulls out his changing mat from its place and tells us he wants to change his diaper whenever he poops.

Make a changing station at your vacation Hotel

Not only at home you can make sure when you are travelling, but you can also make a hotel room table or a corner credenza as a changing station. If your hotel can do a small set up in a corner then, it’s effortless to get the station ready.

You can also make it yourself on the hotel room’s table using 2 towels. You can also use a blanket or request for some extra bedsheets to put on the table and make a changing station. I did it every time we were out on a vacation. And I can say it was very convenient and less messy room.

We even took some funny advantages of this changing table.

When he was 2-9 months old and not in a cheerful mood and getting cranky, we used to simply pick him up and put him on that table. Like a robot, he was programmed to keep calm on that table. Haha! He used to be quiet over there, and we could just sit next to him, take a relaxing breath and talk to him. How convenient right!

Ps: That was my husband’s idea, and it worked.

For better body posture

The changing station is beneficial in keeping our sanity and right body posture.
When you are standing and changing the diaper, your spinal cord is straight, and your back is not painful which could be very bad for a new mom.

On top of that, your work happens quickly. Because you have all the work view in front of you.

I like to keep our baby’s changing station well lit for better cleaning and much more like inspecting baby bum for any rashes and so on.

So that’s my suggestion, keep a diaper changing station for your baby so that she knows what to expect. And babies also love to prepare mentally just like us. (parents)

You can also try a car seat, stroller, baby carrier and a baby crib right after they are born, so they get used to things this world works with, other than the world of the womb.

Good luck, mommies and lots of love.

Save it for later!

Hope the blog is helpful!
