What to Expect from Langkawi SkyCab
What to expect when you go for the Langkawi Sky Bridge Cable car. There are more activities there other than Skybridge and Cable car at Oriental Village. These activities are the SkyDome, a planetarium in Langkawi, Sky Rex, and inside the Dino Movie. Pet land where kids can spend time observing and feeding the animals like their pets and 3-D Art Museum where you are in the 3-D pictures.
There are restaurants and it’s like a lovely park for kids to chill out and also if you are short of money there’s an ATM, there are money changers and there are normal shops where you can find small snacks and soft drinks and all as well as there are different souvenir and gift shops this Village has all of these things so that’s why you are going to take a lot more time here than just 1 or 2 hours.
How Much Time to Spend in Sky Bridge Langkawi?
It can be more than 3 to 4 hours here if you choose to do all the activities here. like going inside the skydome or going inside the different activities like Skyrex or doing the various activities offered over here inside the Oriental Village so keep this in mind that it will be a full day excursion over here. This place is not a small-time activity place where you will go and finish off and come back to your hotel or quickly go for some other activity.
So make sure that you check your tickets, what activities are included in your ticket and check which activities you need to do because sometimes you know you get tired after doing all these activities so keep all of these things in your mind when you’re buying the ticket.
How to go on Langkawi Sky cable car and Sky Bridge
Hire a taxi, rent a car or rent a two-wheeler and look for Oriental Village on your Google map. You drive to the Oriental village, the parking space is huge and the starting cost is 10 RM for three hours.
Oriental Village is set on the foothills of Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park.
As you go inside the village, you will find a counter and you can redeem your online tickets from there or buy a ticket directly from the ticket window.
Langkawi SkyCab is 27 km and 35 minutes away from Kuah town.
24 minutes and 18 km from Pantai Cenang and Tanjung Rhu, it’s 30 minutes and from The Datai Langkawi it’s 28 mins away.

Ticket prices and options
There’s no entrance fee for Langkawi Sky Bridge. You park your vehicle and go inside the Oriental village.
There are 2 types of ticket options:
- Express lane – skip the line option with standard gondola
- Non-express lane – you will have to stand in line until your turn. With standard gondola
- The above options are also available with a glass gondola which is very good for the clear glass picture. But I don’t think it makes a lot of difference other than the money.

I know many people suggest buying these tickets online in advance but for us what worked was it was Sunday so we went there and bought express tickets because it was very crowded, and the line was very long so express lane tickets worked best for us.
With our tickets, we quickly went for our activities rather than standing waiting in line. What I would suggest to you is that maybe on weekdays it won’t be that crowded so you may want to come here first and buy your ticket right at the window. But if you are coming on weekends or public holidays then you may get crowded, so you better go for express lane tickets online as well because it will be very crowded. to avoid all these crowds I think express lane tickets are a little bit expensive but they will save a lot of your time and provide you convenience.
Our express lane tickets included Sky cable car + sky bridge with glider, sky rex, 3d art museum for $30 Adult and $10 for children.
Honestly, the glider is good if you have kids and can’t walk or hike a bit with them.
We walked towards the Skybridge even though we had the Glider tickets because there was a very long line for the Glider and walking down towards the Skybridge is still fine, then walking back through the nature walk.
But if it’s raining, you can’t climb up or walk in that Nature walkway if you have kids and elders with you.
How Much Does a Langkawi Cable Car Cost usually
As of my last update, ticket prices for the Langkawi Cable Car vary depending on whether you choose a standard or glass-bottom gondola. Expect to pay around RM 55 to RM 105 (approximately USD 13 to USD 25) per adult, with discounts available for children and seniors.
Preparations for the activities in Langkawi Skycab
In Langkawi, it starts raining in July so it rains on and off. And there are days it’s hot and humid.
- Weather changes from sunny to cloudy to pouring heavily. So you must bring an umbrella with you.
- If you see the morning bright and clear, bring your hat, wear Sunscreen and get your sunglasses.
When we went, it was a very nice day it was a very bright and sunny day and after some time it started raining, it was bad for the people who were on the sky Bridge because it was raining very heavily that’s why you should come prepared for this activity
The best time to visit Langkawi
If you want to save yourself from wasting your days and waiting for the rain to finish pouring, consider vacationing in Langkawi during the dry season, which spans from November to March. This period is the peak tourist season, theweather is generally dry, with plenty of sunshine. The average temperature during these months is from 25°C to 32°C (77°F to 89.6°F). It is good for outdoor activities and beach vacations. As this season brings lots of heat weaves it colours the island brown with dry leaves. So don’t be confused when you see videos of green Langkawi online. It’s because it’s taken during the green months.
According to me, from April to August it’s pleasant weather. These months constitute the shoulder season. The weather is humid and cloudy sometimes and some days it rains heavily. This period is less crowded, offering a more peaceful experience with fewer tourists.
September to October are the wettest months, with heavy rainfall and higher humidity levels. While the island is lush and green during this time, the frequent rains can disrupt outdoor activities and travel plans.
Advantages of Visiting Langkawi During the Dry Season
- Ideal for Beach Activities: The calm seas and sunny weather are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, diving, and other water sports.
- Festivals and Events: The dry season coincides with several cultural festivals and events, providing a glimpse into the local culture and traditions.
- Wildlife and Nature: Clear skies and pleasant weather make it an excellent time for exploring Langkawi’s natural attractions, such as the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls (this may be dried during these months) and various hiking trails.
Considerations
- Higher Prices: Due to the influx of tourists, accommodation and flight prices can be higher during the peak season. It’s advisable to book in advance to secure the best deals.
- Crowds: Popular attractions and beaches can be crowded, especially during public holidays and school vacations.
Is the Langkawi sky bridge and cable car worth visiting: the review.
Langkawi sky bridge vs cable car – Both activities are connected. You can’t have the skybridge without stepping into a cable car. That’s the whole point of going from the foothill to the top of the Manchinchange hills and then enjoying the surrounding hills and the infinite ocean walking on the Skybridge admiring nature and the whole setup.
Langkawi Sky Bridge location is very far from many places. But the longest time it takes to reach the Oriental Village is around 30 minutes. So I think for one time you can do this.
It can be exhausting for some people to finish all the activities on the ticket. We didn’t do 3-D Art Museum, or SkyDome either. But it’s still a good excursion in Langkawi even though it takes almost a full day.
